CONSUMER REPORTS BEST BUY DRUGS, 2007
Health Benefits ABCs directed the national outreach component of Consumer Union’s initiative, Consumer Reports Best Buy Drugs. HBABCs was a subcontractor for the demonstration phase of this major initiative to identify “best buy drugs” based upon the most current evidence regarding prescription drug effectiveness and safety and the best cost information so that consumers, physicians, pharmacists can make decisions about prescription drug use in an informed way. HBABCs’ principal responsibilities included: conducting focus groups; designing and implementing through partner organizations pilot outreach programs in Sacramento, CA and Cobb County, GA; based upon evaluation of the two pilots, expanding CRBBD consumer outreach throughout California and Georgia and adding 4 additional states (Maryland, Minnesota, Arizona, Pennsylvania); working with CU and national partner organizations to conduct CRBBD education and outreach nationally.
