MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF AGING:
"A Plan for Excellence for the Maryland Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program: An Assessment and Strategic Plan for the Maryland Department of Aging," submitted by Health Benefits ABCs, Final Report, March 2009.
For this project, Health Benefits ABCs conducted a thorough review and assessment of the Maryland Long-term Care Ombudsman Program; developed a strategic action plan that identified how programmatic processes and systems could be strengthened, including timelines and benchmarks for achieving Long-term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP) goals and appropriate outcome measures, and for improving the overall quality of Maryland’s LTCOP.

NATIONAL CENTER ON BIRTH DEFECTS AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES:
Health Benefits ABCs assisted with the development and implementation of a strategic planning initiative for the Disability and Health Team, National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Tasks included developing a strategic framework, facilitating meetings with Disability and Health staff, writing and editing strategic planning documents, and briefing team and center leadership on the results of this process. The strategic planning process was to provide overall guidance to the team in terms of strategic positioning of the team a strategic vision that is in harmony with legislative mandates, CDC’s public health mission, and differentiates the work of the team from other federal programs. Completed April 2008.

Health Benefits ABCs assisted the Medicare Rights Center with strategic planning to expand its services and products to aging network providers nationally (e.g., State Units on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging).
